We run regular strongman training sessions for all levels, from beginner to intermediate, through to competitive strongman or strongwoman.
The gym has atlas stones, logs, kegs, yoke, farmers handles, tyres, sleds, axle, sledgehammers and various other strongman toys.
We run our Strongman sessions on Sundays and Wednesdays. Read on for the details of each event.
Strongman Training In London
We have a session for you whether you are a beginner or an experienced strongman/strongwoman.
1. Sunday Events and Beginners
Sundays are for strongman here at SA. We try to cater for all abilities, from those just getting started with the sport, all the way up to those competing at national level.
The core of our day is the morning events. This is a 2 hour coached session running from 10.30am – 12.30pm.
It’s a mixed gender & mixed ability group. The group generally works together towards a local competition in 5-8 week blocks, with a few extra events thrown in for fun.
You don’t need to be doing this (or any) competition if you don’t wish. Coming down simply to enjoy the session is
There’s no need to wait until the start of a new block, just come join when you can. A session typically consists of 3-4 strongman events, with at least 2 taken from the comp we are leading up to. We’re open to requests if you’d like to cover a particular event and will always accommodate where we can. See below for equipment available.

If you want to get involved but don’t quite feel ready, we run a beginners technique class. This happens before the Events session, at 9.30-10.30am. This class is mostly instructional. We cover typical events, with our focus being on learning how to perform effectively and safely.
This class is more of an education than a workout. There is no need to have any prior lifting experience. While you can attend as many classes as you wish, we aim for participants to be confident to join the Events group after 4-6 sessions.

2. Strongman Strength Class
Regular weekday evening class for beginners to intermediates. This class will build your strongman-specific strength and conditioning.
Working with a coach, each week you’ll train strongman-style deadlift or pressing variations, followed by accessories, and finishing with some strongman conditioning.
Every few months, you’ll have the opportunity to test your strength with an in-house competition.
This class will suit you if you are interested in improving your strength for the sport of Strongman, or getting into the sport for the first time.

If you don’t have a membership yet, and would like to try the class, you can pay the drop-in fee (£25). Book into your chosen class via the class calendar.

To get started in Strongman as a beginner, we recommend our Sunday Strongman Beginners class (see above) or our Strongman Strength class on a Wednesday evening.
If you are an experienced strongman/strongwoman, and are looking to train with a group of like-minded individuals, and/or compete, come and try our Sunday Events session or the Wednesday Strongman Strength class.
Strongman Open Events Training
On the first Sunday of the month, we run an open gym session for Events training from 1pm to 3pm. Come down and use our equipment for your own training. Drop ins are £10.
