In addition to our regular workshops and classes, we also offer personal training for those who want to take their Olympic weightlifting to the next level. Our personal trainers are all experienced weightlifters themselves, so they know exactly what it takes to help you reach your goals.
1: Olympic Weightlifting for Beginners
“I’m a beginner and I want to learn the olympic lifts properly!”
This option is for those who are either completely new to the olympic lifts, or have done them before but lack confidence that you are practicing a proper technique.
In a beginner’s Olympic lifting class, you will learn the key movement patterns, proper form, and techniques of the Olympic lifts from an Olympic weightlifting coach and get plenty of practice in a safe and supportive environment, away from other sports.
This is the option for you if:
- You want to learn how to successfully complete the Olympic lifts from scratch
- You have done them before, but don’t feel confident in your technique
- You want to be sure you are doing the lifts safely and correctly.
2: Olympic Weightlifting for Novices to Intermediates
“I’ve learned the lifts and I now want to improve and get past this plateau!”
You have learned basic olympic weightlifting technique. Now you need regular coaching and programming to dramatically improve your numbers and feel confident in your technique.
Perhaps you want to compete, or simply enjoy getting better at this absorbing sport. Our beginners’ courses led by experienced trainers will provide you with all the tools you need to achieve your lifting goals.
This is the option for you if:
- You have a good basic understanding of the Olympic lifts and the best Olympic weightlifting exercises.
- You want to improve your technique and/or increase your strength in the Olympic lifts
- You feel “stuck” at a particular weight or plateaued in your progress.

3: Personal training
“I want to learn or improve my olympic weightlifting with an expert coach on a one-to-one basis.”
You want to learn or improve your performance in the olympic lifts with a coach one-to-one. You may be completely new to olympic weightlifting and fear that you lack the mobility or physical competence to perform the lifts. Or you may need to refine your existing technique for a competition or a practical assessment.
Our Olympic Lifting Trainers have a proven track record in teaching beginners and intermediates the correct techniques of Olympic weightlifting. You’ll also have the benefit of their own lifting experience, gleaned from years of competition at national and international levels.
This is the option for you if:
- You want to learn or improve your technique in the Olympic lifts on a one-to-one basis
- You have specific goals you want to achieve in an Olympic weightlifting program.
- You feel you need extra help to progress due to mobility issues or a lack of confidence/competence in the lifts.

The Olympic lifts are the Power Snatch and Clean & Jerk. Each of the lifts involves athletes lifting a weight from the ground to above their head, with a specific focus on technique, speed, and explosive strength.

Olympic weightlifting programs and classes can improve your strength, power, speed, agility, and offer you more mobility. It is also a great way to improve your cardiovascular fitness and build functional strength.

Who can do Olympic weightlifting?
Anyone! From beginners to intermediate and advanced lifters, no matter your size, shape, age or level of strength and mobility, everyone can learn and enjoy Olympic weightlifting. If you want to enter a local competition, there are weight classes and categories for all ages and all body weights, so you’ll be competing with people who are similar to you, whatever weight class you enter.
There is usually no minimum weight to lift at local level, so you don’t have to worry about whether you are ‘strong enough’ to compete. You will be supported and cheered on whatever your level.
