Olympic Lifting classes are designed for lifters who have done a beginners workshop and learned basic technique, and who now need a regular class to dramatically improve their numbers and feel confident in their technique.
Please note that these classes are not suitable if you have never done snatch and clean & jerk before. You will need to attend our Intro to Olympic Weightlifting workshop before joining regular classes.
What is involved in a typical olympic weightlifting class?
You will work on olympic weightlifting technique, strength, power and muscle conditioning.
Classes are programmed and led by an experienced coach. We start with technique drills, move onto the classical lifts and finish with strength work and/or a muscular conditioning circuit.
We hold a club competition several times a year, which is a fun introduction to the sport of competitive weightlifting. It’s not compulsory but everyone who tries it has a great time, even if they are a little nervous!
Crossfitters are welcome! If you are already doing the olympic lifts and want to improve, then this is the right class for you.
