Staying active as we age is one of the best things we can do for our long-term health and wellbeing. But knowing how to exercise correctly, especially when it comes to weights, can feel intimidating – particularly in a typical gym environment.
That’s why we created Strength Foundations 55+, a new addition to our popular Strength Foundations programme, designed specifically for older adults who want to build strength, confidence and energy in a supportive and sociable environment.
Whether you’re new to resistance training, returning after a break, or simply looking for a better way to stay active, our 55+ exercise classes will help you feel stronger, move better and enjoy everyday life more.

Why Strength Training for Seniors Matters
As we age, we naturally lose muscle and bone density – unless we actively work to maintain it. Resistance training is proven to:
- Help prevent falls and injuries
- Support bone density
- Improve mobility, posture and balance
- Boost energy and confidence
- Protect against frailty and help manage chronic medical conditions
- Improve quality of life and the ability to live independently
And best of all – it can be enjoyable, empowering and even fun
