“I want to get stronger but I am not confident lifting weights on my own. I want someone to teach me proper technique so that I feel confident and can push myself.”
What your issues tend to be
You are new to lifting weights and training for strength.
You’re tired of feeling weak and just messing around in the gym. You want to learn how to lift weights properly so that you can train with confidence and feel like you are getting somewhere.
However you have no idea how to go about lifting weights and you are worried that your technique is just not good enough. You find that you hold back or ‘cop out’ of lifting heavy for fear of injuring yourself.
You find the weights room quite intimidating as it’s full of grunting men and you never see women in there on a regular basis.
What you need right now
A class that is specifically designed to teach weight training for women beginners. A coach who teaches you exactly how to train for strength with good technique, make regular progress and get excellent results from your gym sessions.
You want to learn weight training in a supportive, non-judgmental environment with other women who are beginners, in the same boat as you.
You’d like to have fun, feel like you are making progress, and feel like you have done something worthwhile for yourself.
Strong Ladies Club Dulwich will teach you everything you need to know about lifting weights with good technique. You will develop better mobility and stability, to be able to move with control under load and challenge your body safely.
What is weight training for women in Dulwich like?
This is a large space, which is for our sole use during the class – as opposed to being in with other gym users. It’s big enough to allow us to run a properly socially-distanced class.
Classes are weights-based, working on good movement and mobility, and building the foundations for great lifting technique and strength.
It’s been brilliant focusing on form and technique. I have a bad habit of injuring myself due to bad form and technique, so I think this class has turned out to be just what I needed! – Carrie M.
We ask all class attendees to please bring your own exercise mat.
Our class times and types are as follows:
Tuesday 6.30pm-7.30pm – general class (suitable for beginners and intermediates)
For new starters, you can pay per class for the first couple of months, as we appreciate that you might want to try out some classes first, before committing to being a regular. Drop-ins are £15 per class.
Regular memberships are based on how often you come to class per week. We also have a Class Pack, which is £150 for 10 classes. Detailed information on memberships can be found here.
