Our strength coaching is available as a gift. This includes both personal training and workshops. We have a range both for complete beginners and also those with some experience looking to improve.

A unique and thoughtful gift for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas…a strength fan doesn’t mind what occasion!

Personal Training Gift Certificate

A personal training gift certificate for 1-2-1 training with a top strength coach, gym sessions and aftercare. Packages to suit everyone from beginners to improvers in all areas of strength training.

Each gift package includes:

  • a given number of hours of 1-2-1 coaching
  • movement assessment and recommendations
  • video analysis of lifts during the session
  • written summary of the coaching and recommendations emailed after the sessions

We offer a number of aftercare options included in the price. Your giftee can choose as many of these as they wish:

  • 2 video reviews of technique following the sessions
  • 4-week training program, putting into practise what was learned in the sessions
  • goal setting and outline planning (e.g. for an event or challenge)

Getting Started in Strength Training

4 hours

For people new to strength training, who would like to learn to lift safely and effectively, and get advice on how to train in a sustainable, ongoing manner for general strength and health.
Also suitable for people who want to start strength training for a sport (e.g. running, cycling) and need help to know what to do in the gym.

Getting Started in Olympic Weightlifting

4 hours

For people new to olympic weightlifting who would like to learn the olympic lifts in a private 1-2-1 environment, with the full attention of an experienced coach.

Improving Technique in Strength Training

3 hours

For people who are currently strength training, doing exercises like squat, deadlift, bench press, row etc. They would be looking to:
– improve technique in the main lifts
– get pointers on subjects such as mobility, supplementary strength work, benchmarking etc.
– get advice on how to progress more quickly or get over a plateau

For people who have already learned the basics of the snatch and the clean & jerk. They are looking to
– improve their technique in the lifts
– improve performance in the olympic lifts for Crossfit
– get pointers on subjects such as mobility, supplementary strength work, benchmarking etc.
– get advice on how to progress more quickly or get over a plateau

Olympic Lifting Beginners Workshop

One day workshop in London (11am-3.30pm) to learn the technique of the snatch and the clean & jerk from the ground up. No previous experience of lifting is necessary.

How It Works

All correspondence is sent to the purchaser in the first instance, including a Gift Certificate to present to your giftee. You provide the date on which the gift is being given. After that date is past, we will contact the giftee to make the arrangements for the session. This includes a questionnaire to ensure we know their current training background and what they would really like to get out of the package.

How does the package break down in terms of individual sessions?

The hours in the package can be split out in any way. For example, a 4-hour package could be taken as 4 x 1-hour sessions or 2 x 2-hour sessions or 1 x 4-hour session.

For example, if your giftee has to travel in from outside London, it would be possible to have the whole package delivered on the same day.

Times and locations

For personal training sessions, the following timeslots are available:

Weekdays during the day: Vauxhall, SE11
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 10am-4pm

Evenings and weekends: West Ham, E15
Wednesday 6pm-9pm
Saturday 9am-12pm
Sunday 10am-1pm

Popular timeslots may have a waiting list. Morning sessions before work are possible by arrangement.

You do not have to commit to a timeslot when you make your purchase, but if you have an idea of which timeslots would suit your giftee, this is useful to know in advance.

Workshop times and locations

Workshops take place on Sundays from 11am – 3.30pm in the East London Rugby Club, close to West Ham tube & rail station (E15 3BP)

Does the gift expire?

Yes, the gift certificate is valid for 1 year from date of gift (i.e. the date on which you present the gift to the giftee).
