Who should do Olympic Lifting for Beginners?
You are probably a complete beginner in olympic lifting. Or perhaps you have tried the clean & jerk or the snatch before, but you have not had sufficient training to feel confident with the techniques.

You may have tried the olympic lifts in Crossfit or as part of your sport training. But you are struggling with your performance and want to learn the lifts properly in order to get a big performance improvement.
You need a course dedicated to teaching you correct and safe technique in the snatch, clean and jerk, so that you can feel confident executing and training these movements.
We’ll take you step by step through olympic lifting technique. The atmosphere in our classes is supportive and friendly. You’ll often be working in pairs or groups, helping each other out and encouraging each other to lift confidently.
This is a learning experience like no other! It’s intense, enjoyable and will make you feel incredible when you lift that bar over your head!

We offer two options in different locations in London.
Option 1 is a weekly class in north London, taking place on a Saturday afternoon.
Option 2 is a one-day intensive workshop for beginners in east London. This takes place on a Sunday several times a year. See below for upcoming dates.
Option 1: Weekly beginners class
This option is ideal if you would like to learn at a slower pace, in smaller ‘bites’ than the intensive one-day workshop. Each class is one hour, and you can do beginners classes for as long as you like, until you feel ready to move in to the regular class.
To attend beginners classes, you will need a monthly membership. If you are a new customer, you can start with our Introduction Membership at £67 for your first month. Click on Memberships to purchase your Introduction Month membership, and then use the Class Calendar to book into any beginners class.
Location: Crossfit North London, 44 Tottenham Lane, Crouch End, London N8 7EA. Nearest station Hornsey (>1 min), or Turnpike Lane, Piccadilly line (10 minutes walk).

Option 2: One-day Intensive Workshop
This option is ideal if you want to learn the full technique in the snatch and the clean & jerk in one day. No previous experience of weightlifting is necessary. We often have people coming from around the country to attend this workshop.
Once you have completed the one-day workshop, you can either join our regular classes to continue your practise, or follow our complimentary Beginners Programme on your own.
The workshop costs £137 (Early Bird price £117) for the day plus free programme.
