What is Biosignature and how can it help you?
Biosignature signficantly improves your ability to strip fat and build muscle, particularly in the problem areas.
Biosignature Modulation (to give its full name) is a system developed by renowned strength coach Charles Poliquin that allows us to develop a profile (or signature) of how your body stores fat.
Knowing this, we can apply the right protocol of diet and nutritional supplements to improve your body composition and your long term health.
Does that sound too good to be true? Suspend your scepticism for a moment. We know that where you store fat on your body is closely related to your hormonal make up. It is fairly common knowledge, for example, that excess cortisol (the ‘stress’ hormone) causes belly fat. Similar correlations can be made at a number of key sites around the body; measuring these sites gives us a profile of how your hormones are behaving (or not behaving!).
Having obtained this profile, we can recommend variations to your diet and nutritional supplements to target your priority areas. You will get a protocol that is designed to tackle your particular pattern of body fat distribution and your body composition goals.
Here’s an example: how many of you can never shift the fat from your thighs, no matter how much you exercise or diet? I was one of those people; I always held fat in my legs, and while my upper body got leaner and leaner, the thigh fat hardly seemed to shift at all.
Or how about that stubborn belly fat that never seems to go despite killing yourself at the gym and getting leaner everywhere else?
Exercise and a calorie-restricted diet won’t do the job on their own, because they don’t address the particular hormonal imbalance (such as estrogen in stubborn thigh fat) that causes excess fat to be stored at that location in the first place.
This is where Biosignature can be so effective as it can target particular areas and, effectively, spot reduce fat.
Biosignature can also be used to improve health and lifestyle issues such as stress, lack of energy, poor sleep patterns, digestive problems, immunity, athletic performance and recovery from training.
All of these impact not only on everyday health but also your ability to lose fat and build muscle. Lack of sleep, for example, leads to excess belly fat due to elevated levels of cortisol.
The results that individuals have seen from Biosignature speak for themselves. It is not uncommon for men to lose 1% body fat per week and for women to drop 1% body fat a fortnight.
How does it work?
The first Biosignature consultation gathers information about your lifestyle – such as health history, sleep patterns and so on – and initial measuresments are taken using skinfold calipers on twelve sites around the body.
These results are then assessed and a diet, training and supplement protocol is put together for you. Your measurements are retaken every 2-3 weeks and the protocol adjusted if necessary according to your progress.
If the protocols are followed closely and consistently, results come quickly.
To see great results and a good return on your investment, you need to commitment to at least 6 weeks. This isn’t a crash diet, we want to get you results that you can sustain.
For men, the minimum I recommend is a 6 week course. For women, the minimum recommended course is 9 weeks as it takes women longer to lose body fat (fact of life, ladies!).
For best results a 12 week course is recommended.
It is important to note that there are many underlying issues that can take a good deal longer than 12 weeks to resolve, but most people can make significant progress in 12 weeks nevertheless.
